笔者毕业于普通大专院校的国贸专业,大学三年恋爱玩耍就是没心思读书,惭愧的英语四级都没过。毕业后这几年都在不相干的行业做着文职工作,工资一直原地踏步。于是到了适婚年龄没钱没房的压力回到老家,家里介绍到一个亲戚家的工厂工作。来到工厂上班一年,之前也都是在帮忙打杂。这家工厂业务都是靠外贸的单子,老板其实一直想自己能开发客户不要受限于外贸,于是把希望寄托在我身上。人都会长大吧,现在想想真是后悔当初白白浪费了高中和大学的时光,哎,都浪费在早恋上了。该振作,要为以后好好打算,总不能来赚那点工资。
我们的产品实际上是一个很小的汽车配件,产品比较独特,很多客户都还不知道这产品,但是同样是消耗品所以需求量还挺大的。去年也参加一次过展会,感觉现在展会越做越大,但是客人却就那些,展会上来的大部分都是外贸带来的老客户。就凭着姐那三脚猫的功夫也骗来了几张名片。(我的英语当时烂到连两款产品的长度不同什么的都不懂用怎么表达,估计客人也挺无奈的)
展会回来后不断的百度和GG终于写了几封开发信发出去。以下具体分析:
1.这是很大很有名号的客户。当时路过我们展位给了我名片,说了一堆其实我都没听清楚,只听懂了我们的产品英文名称和最后一句SEE YOU LATER,我囧。现在回想有点后悔,我想拿到名片之后我就该去他们的展位摆放洽谈更详细的合作计划,但是又想想我这英语水平还是算了。回来后联系都没回复。但是我还是圣诞新年都发些简单的祝福过去。直到六月份我闲着没事又开始重新联系这些老外,当然在这期间我也陆陆续续在FOB上把一些好的简单易懂的信件复制下来慢慢消化。

一个礼拜过后这位西班牙客人终于回复了我(当然信件很多单词需要电脑翻译,但也算是个学习的机会),看来会是个漫长的等待

So, if we start to ask for drawings and samples now, you will send them but I wont be able to give you a serious answer.
Under these circunstances, we prefer to wait some month before we retake contact. We,re hiring new staff for Engineering and as soon as the new engineers are working and trained, we can check samples , quotations and move towards a collaboration together.

这位就是我连长度都没懂怎么表述的老外,也不懂他当时是否能理解我所表达的内容,最后要走了我们的两款样品。回来后发邮件也是没回复。到了新年发了些祝福语过去倒是也回复祝福姐。想想他还算有良心的,发了好几个祝福信也就他回复了,虽然只字未提产品合作的事。
也是在大半年后和上个客户一样的时间,差不多的信件内容发过去,几天后得到了回复。

看来这FOB上学来的信还挺有用的,连续两个人都回我了,虽然也不算好消息,但总比没回复的我。又是一场漫长的等待啊。我的做法一向是看到好词好句好信就复制下来,把一些我不容易记的单词或则句子通过简单的单词转换下,这样我才能融会贯通。年龄大了记性不好的人伤不起啊。我想我真是少个筋,展会上看到这客人想应该是中东的,所以回来后都没拿他的名片仔细研究。直到最近才发现原来是伊朗的,我的妈呀,这地方不是很乱吗。于是自我安慰这样的客人做了估计也不稳定,就放着没事跟踪下,能做就做,不做就算了的心态了。
第三个客户
实际上展会我只记得前面两个客户,其他的我都没啥印象。展会回来后和这客人联系,他回复很感谢我的来信,他们很需要这些资料,稍后会和我联系。实在不喜欢老外说的ASAP,难怪前辈们老是心态心态,我想我现在要是在一家外贸公司靠提成生活的业务人员应该会抓狂吧。于是我等了又等,又按照前辈们所说的没事发个问候,没事发个新产品开发。终于在六月份又是六月客户向我正式询价了并且我们也寄了样品通过测试。这来来回回的沟通都挺顺利的,但是客户一直没办法确定需要的数量,又是那种let me know something ASAP。不过她回复我们规定的每款最小订量300,订单金额最少5000美金没什么问题。我想着我终于可以做出点成绩了。
没想到问题来了,她又询价了一些产品,这些产品好几款是我们目前还没开发的。我想我犯了个错误,一开始和客人说需要他们提供原厂样品给我们开发,却没提到希望客人支付模具费。其实我的初衷是希望客户能下定目前有生产的产品,用产品需要开发很久来拖延时间,希望客户也许对几款没生产的产品可以不了了之,毕竟现在模具成本太高。没想到,哎

自从这模具费的邮件发出后,她就再也没回复了。我之后又发了两封邮件问情况,要是有任何问题我们可以沟通。当时是八月初了,在论坛上看到大家说西班牙都休假了,我只能自我安慰也许她在休假。因为七月份其中很大部分的邮件她都是使用黑莓手机发来的。现在模具成本很高。可能是因为我们的产品开发出来通用性比较强,外贸让我们开发的新品也从没付过什么模具费。我原本是打算先和客人说需要承担全额模具费,不行再说各自分担一半。哎。没想到就这样没下文了。我只能期待也许是在放假,毕竟之前的邮件沟通还挺顺利的,希望9月能和我联系。但是一般欧洲的老外休假都会设置个自动回复吧她又没有,哎矛盾啊到底是怎么回事,打算要是9月还是没回复的话就找个口语好的朋友帮忙打电话问问了。郁闷死姐了
哈,昨天很开心因为第三客人,也就目前最有潜力的客人回复了确实是在度假中,九月回来后会和我联系。

看了很多朋友的成长记录,真觉得太不容易了。而我相对好多了,不是在外贸公司上班,老板也没给很大的压力,现在靠外贸的单子就做的很忙了。我只希望我能坚持下去,发展几个稳定的客户。对于英语方面我实在头痛,当初没有好好学习,现在事情太多记性也不好。大家别看我的信写的还凑合,这可都是在百度,FOB,有道上查了好久才拼凑出来的句子,然后再请教高手朋友们,经过几遍的修改才发出去的。希望我的英语水平能够慢慢的进步,毕竟做外贸英语实在太重要了。加油加油!
第四个客户,土耳其的
这客人我也不知道从哪里冒出来的,某天早上上班一打开电脑便看到这客人的询盘,虽然品种不多,但是每款数量都挺多的。也是报价后就没消息。之后再追着,客人回复他在收集几个公司的报价将做对比后联系。于是我也乖乖的等着他的通知,免得经常联系怕他不耐烦。
就在五月一日的早上十点左右我还在睡梦中接到了一个电话,说着生硬的中文。他问我们公司在广州哪里,现在有没开店。还好他会说中文可以沟通无误。我解释我们是工厂,不在广州,而在**。五一休假我们正在休息,但是随时欢迎他来参观。他回答太远了他们时间比较紧看来没办法。等到清醒后我意识到当时打电话的可能是这位土耳其的客人,于是发邮件过去,果然是他,并且告知我们的价格确实是最优惠的,但是他的PARTNER要回土耳其确实没办法来参观,我们还是继续邮件联系。邮件中我试着催促尽快下单,但是客人却回复他们计划到夏天才采购。终于等到了七月我又发了邮件

又是最恨的ASAP,就这样八月都到头了这家伙也还是没告知是否到中国。看来最近又要发个邮件询问询问。
最近看到论坛上好多朋友都选择电话开发客户,我想我是一时想不通居然也壮胆试了试,事实证明就我这水平还是邮件沟通就好了。先是打到德国的,接电话的一般都是前台女生,一接电话便飙德语,听到我SAY HELLO通常一愣变马上转换过来。
第一个打过去负责人不在要邮箱地址便说了个网站上INFO那种长期没人回的邮箱,但是这MM很可爱,因为我找来同学壮胆,没想到他在旁边一直捣乱让我发笑,对方听到我笑也一直笑着,语气很和善虽然很多听不懂。
第二个打过去那MM很慌张给了个邮箱地址却发现德国人的发音实在太难懂了,说了好几分钟也听不到@后缀地址是什么,只好作罢假装听懂挂电话。我想我是放弃德国人这字母发音,转战英国看看,没想到。。。。有事,待后续
我也是半桶水呀,现在都还没成单了一直在联系着。chenyibing前辈说客人和你联系的时间越长,单子越是跑不掉。加上欧洲客户效率都好低,我只好安慰自己总有一天会有单的。付款方式再写信问问或则电话客人的想法吧,不过我觉得还是要有原则的,毕竟新客户信誉问题都比较没有保障。如果口语OK,推荐电话联系解决难题。
之前说的第四个客户土耳其的说八月要来中国。我一直在苦苦等待,原本打算八月底发个邮件询问下,谁知月底太忙知道昨天才发邮件询问,收到客人回信时吓死了,还好有惊无险,没影响合作。

今天有点烦躁,感觉现在欧洲经济不大景气,外贸公司的单子都少了,自己跟踪的几个客户也半天没下单。想打电话催催客户但是口语能力又有限。只能告诫自己淡定淡定 不能放弃
最有希望的西班牙客户又没回信了。之前有说过度假回来后就和我联系,终于等到了九月虽然是盼来了ASAP,但是还是很安慰,客户应该是担心让我等太久发个信安抚我。于是我回信提了些她暑假前没明确答复我的问题,没想到这几天都没消息,之前联系都是当天就回的。哎,客户的心思真是难猜测,等待的人总是最痛苦的。

土耳其的客户在报价后几天内没消息,我发邮件问了说是将在下一周公司商讨。可现在一周也过了还是没消息,发邮件问是否确认也没回复。我想我的耐心真的被消磨的差不多了,快点回复快点成单吧
真是服了西班牙客人的效率,样品还是没办法提供,模具费的问题也没有正面回复。

一段时间没更新了,主要是没啥进展。
土耳其的客人奇怪的要命,从他回的那三封似英语又完全无语法可言的邮件中,我猜他是遇到什么财务状况或则紧急的事要处理,而且原来和我联系那人估计已经没做了,回信完全是另外个不懂英语的人回复的。
1.在报价后隔十几天就发个邮件询问后他回复:
comments approved immediately, do I need very urgent ok Make emergency goods
2.在我询问土耳其地震是否有影响到他们时回复:
I was not where we we're very good at that site function
3.在我经常在MSN上骚扰后又回复HOTMAIL邮件

最近因为邀请她参加上海车展又委婉的询问她我们的项目发展如何,她回复for the moment everything is fine.
好吧,就这样我也只能这样一直联系着一直等下去,希望她能尽快确定下单吧。
没想到在我联系N个客人中还未下单的,闲来就在一个免费平台中却得到了这个小订单USD1800。
在我发布产品信息后的两三天收到了个询盘,激动的打开后却发现是个尼日利亚的客人,由于早前在FOB也看到好几个尼日利亚的帖子知道这个国家骗子很多,激动的心情瞬间凉了一半。但是本着学习不放过任何机会的态度联系着,要求30%定金,余款发货前付清(事后发现很多人都要求50%定金,下回注意),客人要求空运,之后运费等一切谈妥便让我发PI,然后两天后就给我打了900美金的定金.这效率真是让我见到了曙光,也算我的第一单。
虽然是个小订单,但利润还不错,希望再接再厉哈

在这严重批评上海的某货代公司。因为第一次操作空运出口在福步上搜了一堆货代的联系方式然后逐一询价后和这货代合作。没想到一号空运的货到了20号客人才收到。我只能说货代这林子真是什么鸟都有。虽然运输问题是出在航空公司上,但其处理的服务态度却让人汗颜。在我还没来得抱怨之前,他已经自己开始在我这狂骂抱怨航空公司,而不是诚心和我解释道歉。在我告知他他所提供的联系电话一直没人接时,竟大脾气的反问是难道他给我的会是假号码。在我做业务的观念里客户和业务虽然是平等的,但业务员毕竟是赚客户的钱的,总是需要站在客人的角度着想,服务态度至少要好,嚣张的反问客人则是大忌。而我所遇到的这位年轻人,真是脾气十足,比客户还狂躁。再次告诫各位同仁,一定要慎选货代!
